ART STAGE SINGAPORE
On the occasion of the second participation in Art Stage Singapore, Galerie DUMONTEIL focuses particularly on two French artists who have until now never been exhibited in Asia despite their successful presence in a variety of international art fairs, notably in FIAC, Abu Dhabi Art Fair and the Armory Show.
Clément BORDERIE (b.1960) applies a method of extremely original creativity expressing an ecological concern. He installs his canvases on chassis, and leaves them exposed to air for several months in order to utilize pollution as pigment, which he controls through protective cover as well as by gradually modifying the form of the chassis.
Next to him, vistors could find a selection of works on paper by Denis POLGE (b.1972), singing a poetic and surrealist hymn to nature and materials.
In parallel to these two artists are to be found a selection of works of WANG Keping (b.1949), Nisky YU (b.1989) (it is his first appearing in Singapore after a remarkable success of exhibitions in Shanghai in 2013, and in New York in 2014). These works illustrate the creation of Asian artist of our Gallery, aside from the works of Daniel DAVIAU (b.1962), Helmut KOLLER (b.1954), Eric PILLOT (b.1968) are considered as the greatest contemporary figurative artists.
Furthermore, two works of Diego GIACOMETTI (1902 – 1985) and Pierre CHRISTOPHE (1880-1971) represent the prestigious collection of Galerie DUMONTEIL from the 1930s to the 1970s.
